What are calories?

A calorie is a unit of energy that the body needs to function, they are made up of protein, carbs, and fats. Everybody needs to eat a different number of calories to maintain their weight. In order to lose weight, you must eat less calories than your body needs to maintain, in order to gain weight/muscle you need to eat more calories than you need to maintain. 

How do I track calories?

The easiest way to track calories is on an app called My Fitness Pal. This video will explain how to do everything on the app from changing your calorie goal, how to weigh your food out, and how to track it.
